WHITE DISTILLED VINEGAR

I bet you didn’t know that vinegar can replace mold and mildew cleaners, window and glass cleaners, all purpose cleaners and toilet bowl cleaners. Add essential oils such as Lavender with tea tree (encourages relaxation), Lavender and Orange (lifts your spirits), Lavender with Peppermint (invigorates you), Lemon (brightens your mood), Basil, Bergamont, Cinnamon, Clove, Eucalyptus, Grapefruit, Lime, Oregano, Rosemary and Thyme.

1/2 cup of vinegar
1/2 cup of water
12 to 24 drops of essential oils
Spray Bottle
Shake the bottle to incorporate the essential oils.
Keep out of the Sunlight and Heat

HOW TO USE THE VINEGAR BASED CLEANER

 TOUGH CLEANING JOBS

Let the spray sit for several minutes.

MINERAL BUILD UP

Around fixtures or excessive mildew in the shower, let the spray sit for a few minutes to work best. Use an old toothbrush or scrubbing brush then rinse well.

DISINFECT SURFACE

Counter tops. spray and wait 60 seconds then wipe off.

Never on MARBLE, GRANITE or NATURAL STONE SURFACES. The vinegar will dull their shine.

SCRUBBING

Sinks, bathtubs, shower, toilet, oven and sometimes counter tops. First sprinkle baking soda, then spray the vinegar solution to dampen the baking soda to create a paste. Scrub with an eco-friendly sponge or scrubbing tool. Watch all soap scum, dirt, odors and mold disappear.

ELIMINATE ODORS

Use the spray as an air freshener. Vinegar is a natural deodorizer.

CAUTION

Never mix Vinegar with Bleach. It will create a toxic chlorine gas.

Vinegar can break down latex grout, if left on too long.

Raw egg spills with a vinegar spray will cause the egg to coagulate (change to a solid state) and make it a lot harder to clean up.

Avoid using the Vinegar solution on Hardwood floors. Some finishes can be damaged by the vinegar.

If Vinegar or Essential oils gets into your eyes flush your eyes with water for 5-10 minutes. If irritation persist consult a doctor.

PROPER CLEANING TECHNIQUES OF SILVER

KEEPING MYSELF SAFE WHILE CLEANING DURING COVID PANDEMIC

Life as we knew it has drastically changed due to COVID-19.

This pandemic is showing no signs of slowing down and even though there is a vaccine, we have no choice but to adapt to the circumstance at hand.

  • Washing our hands  way more often than before.
  • Cleaning high traffic areas multiple times a day.
  • Wearing a mask has become the new norm.
  • Keeping distant from our loved ones to keep us all safe.
  • The list of precautions we should take daily is endless but needed.

There is no room for error when it comes to your safety when you are working. Families and individuals  depend on you to provide a clean and sanitized home but protecting yourself during these uncertain times should be a top priority.

THE DAY BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED CLEANING:

1. 24 hours before your scheduled cleaning, the client should be asked if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms such as fever or chills.

2. Knowing exactly what your assignments are before hand will better prepare you.

3. Clients should always have cleaning supplies ready for you to perform your duties. One sure way to reduce the spreading of germs is to not walk with cleaning supplies from home.

4. Make sure the cleaning products kills COVID-19. There are hundreds of products on the market but knowing the products approved to kill COVID-19 is something you should know.

5. Make sure you are always prepared with masks, gloves, and shoe covers. In case a client does not have these items it's best that you come prepared.

BEFORE YOUR START CLEANING:

1. Discuss with the client if they will be home during the scheduled cleaning. If they will be home, ensure that you can physically distance yourself at all times.

2. If the client can stay in their bedroom as you clean the other areas of the home would be best. When you are done with those areas you and the client can switch areas so that you can now clean the bedroom.

CLEANING DAY:

1. Once weather permits it, open all windows when you enter the home. This will increase the air circulation throughout the home.

2. Whether you are working for yourself or a company, arrange your payment in the form of direct deposit.

3. Follow  all of the CDC cleaning and safety tips. By now it has become second nature but it’s never a bad idea to have a refresher.

FRIENDLY ADVICE:

Schedule 1 cleaning  per day, doing this gives you time to change clothes before entering another clients home, and therefore reduces the spread of germs.

We know this is not always best for business but something to think about.

THE MANY USES OF BAKING SODA

Confused by all the cleaning products out in the market.

What do you normally go for the harshest cleaners, or the all natural cleaners, the multi-purpose cleaner, or multiple cleaners for specific areas?

You probably don't realize that you already have one of the most versatile cleaners right in your home: BAKING SODA

Baking soda has always been used for cleaning but it just doesn’t get the credit it deserves. There are so many uses for baking soda when it comes to cleaning.

Here is an outline of a few ways to use it:

1. IN THE REFRIGERATOR.

Open a box of baking soda in the fridge and watch all those nasty odors get absorbed by the baking soda.

2. ELIMINATES GARBAGE ODORS.

Similar to your fridge, your garbage holds a lot of  foul odors. Simply sprinkle some baking soda in the bottom of your trash can to keep it always smelling fresh.

3. CLOGGED DRAINS.

Clogged drains are a huge smelly inconvenience at times. Before you rush to call a plumber pour  ½ a cup of baking soda,  followed by ½ a cup of vinegar down your drain. Your  will notice that your sink will bubble but that only means the solution is working. Wait 5-10 minutes and flush with hot water and your clogged drain will be unclogged.

4. STAINED TUPPERWARE.

Storing pasta sauce in a plastic Tupperware has never been a smart idea. That oil stain it leaves is a hard one to get rid of. Guess what, it turns out you that soaking any stained containers in warm water and 1 cup baking soda gets rid of oily stains!

5. GREASY POTS AND PANS.

Scrubbing pots and pans until your arm is sore is now a thing of the past. Simply soak your pots and pans in 1 cup baking soda and hot water. Wait about 20 minutes and watch how easy the grease will come off.

6. REMOVING SOAP SCUM AND MILDEW.

Bathrooms are always going to be the dirtiest place in your home. Your shower walls may have soap scum and your grout may be filled with mildew, take a damp sponge with some baking soda and watch it work wonders on your shower.

7. LAUNDRY.

Is your white clothes and colors looking a little dead beat? Add a cup of diluted baking soda to your  laundry with detergent and just like that your clothes will brighten back up! You can also use it to remove grease stains by first wetting the garment, then cover the area with baking soda, lastly spray vinegar and let it sit for 20 minutes. When you throw it into the wash, it will look brand new all over again.

8. CRAYON ON THE WALLS.

Having young kids in the house there is bound to be a few wall mishaps. Crayons are the enemy! Crayon drawings on your wall is not the type of art that you want to keep forever. Gently scrub your walls with a damp sponge sprinkled with baking soda and magically your walls will be looking like new.

9. AIR FRESHENER.

Home made air fresheners are the best and you save money. Just mix water, baking soda, and some drops of your favorite essential oils and viola! Add this mixture to a spray bottle and you have yourself a homemade air freshener . Spray the air as you please.

Baking Soda should be a staple in everyone's home.

You should always have Baking Soda at hand!
